୨୧ thoughts on pcs generally and also my own pc now that i've finished upgrading it after a year and a half

10th of may 2023 officially marks the day i finished my first ever custom pc build!!! yay!!!! :DDD i inherited this pc from my dad (technically in 2020, however i only really got into pc gaming since late 2021 and especially early 2022) and started tinkering with it once i realized it really sucks, i don't think initially i ever thought it'd be a complete build like ever but as of today it is! YIPPEEEEE

some statistics regarding my pc:

what i have learned regarding pc building is that if i'm at a standstill with my pc i should just take the L and send it to the repair shop just to conserve my sanity a little

i'm going to be honest i don't have much in mind to write about right now but i tested valorant earlier today and i'm honestly just bursting with joy over how well my pc runs now _ i've put in a lot of time effort and money and nagged my friends a bunch over this machine and it's nice to put all of that to rest for now

playing valorant at 240 fps even with high settings felt so unreal to me.. like i can't believe my pc runs like that?!!! it was also super fun, it's nice to find out that my pc really was a handicap rather than just me convincing myself that as a cope

i can also finally play games that are more intense on the pc to run, such as nier automata and nier replication!! yippee!!! my original nier run was on my school laptop and i really gotta respect myself for that like i truly am a warrior

i'm kind of fantasizing about some more ram, i currently have 16gb so i don't really need it but i think it could be lovely! some extra storage i think will be an actual useful purchase though for the sake of convenience and i really need to get myself a controller of some sort for fighting games :l

this honestly feels a bit like finishing a chapter in my life like it's just so crazy that i now have an actual good pc and theres no need to think of what to upgrade next unless i feel like it.... what the heckkk!!!! like literally what the fuck oh my goddd

excited to try all my games with better graphics and actual good performance! also i can finally get myself a clipping software which i'm pretty stoked about, it'll be great to look back on old gameplay
